“Selected speeches from Indigenous leaders around the world - necessary wisdom for our times, nourishment for our collective, and a path away from extinction toward a brighter, sustainable future...each chapter conveys key Indigenous worldview precepts, including:
* Egalitarian rule versus hierarchical governance
* Trust in the universe instead of a fear-based culture
* The life-enhancing role of ceremony
* A focus on generosity and the greater good versus
personal gain
* The laws of nature as the highest rules for living
The editors emphasize the deep need to rebalance life systems by re-embracing our original worldview. They respectfully seek complementarity with the dominant, imperialistic worldview where possible, and to divest from it where necessary. Restoring the Kinship Worldview is rooted in an Indigenous vision that perceives all life forms as sacred and sentient, and honors the wisdom of the heart. “-from Restoring the Kinship Worldview
